Charolais StuD Sires

In 2022, we are using more of our own home-bred Charolais sires in our herd as we feel they are as good if not better than some of the AI sires available. Find below some of the home-bred and AI sires that we are using in our herd today.

Charolais Sires

CML Distinction

Sire: Merit Vintage 4065P

Dam: Target PLD Ginny 40P

DOB: 17/01/2013

See EBVs here.

This homozygous polled Canadian sire has been picked for use in our herd for his growth, muscularity and overall eye appeal. The progeny are true-to-type Charolais. They are correct, stylish, slick-coated animals with good udders. The males have good top lines and move well.

Wakefield have retained a son of CML Distinction for their own use as a stud sire during 2020 and 2021.

PCC Sudden Impact

Sire: MVX Cougarhill Hank 720G

Dam: Sparrows Tempest 174K

DOB: 13/01/2008

See EBVs here.

Wakefield Charolais have the Australian semen rights for this outstanding sire. He was the Canadian Western Agribition Champion in 2010 and his progeny in Australia and Canada have been performing very well.

His mother, Sparrows Tempest 174K, had great longevity and fertility.

PCC Sudden Impact will improve top lines, length of body, fertility, longevity, finishing ability and phenotype. We recommend he be joined with mature cows only.

Wakefield Major Impact M255, a Sudden Impact son, was the top priced bull at our 2018 bull sale.

Kenmere Syngery’s Man MCS M40E

Sire: Ashwood Park Synergy G29E

Dam: Kenmere Ping E20E

DOB: 14/04/2016

See EBVs here.

Synergy’s Man was Junior and Grand Champion bull at the Melbourne Royal Show in 2017. He is a moderate framed bull packed with even thickness throughout and plenty of muscle expression.

Wakefield Charolais are happy with the young and promising progeny we currently have on the ground by this bull.

Venturon Maximum Impact

Sire: Venturon Keystone

Dam: Venturon Hillary

DOB: 03/12/2016

See EBVs here.

After inspecting this bull at the Sydney Royal Easter Show where he won his class, this homozygous polled bull has been used in our herd for his length of body, smooth muscle patterns and neck extension. We have some outstanding calves that have only hit the ground in late 2019 and we are excited to see their progress.

There will be sons for sale in 2021.  They have impressed us with their growth, temperament and good conformation.

Kandanga Valley Novak

Sire: Baroola Ed

Dam: Kandanga Valley Glendyr

DOB: 03/01/2017

See EBVs here.

We used this show-winning, homozygous polled bull in 2019.  We are very impressed with the calves by this bull.  They are stylish, correct and are stand outs in the herd.

Wakefield President (AI) (ET) (P)

Sire: CML Distinction

Dam: Wakefield Amaze 38

DOB: 07/11/2018

See EBVs here.

President is a heterozygous polled sire being used in the Wakefield herd for his correct phenotype. He is out of a dam who has proven herself in our herd and beyond, Wakefield Amaze 38, Supreme Exhibit at the Charolais National 2019 and Interbreed Champion Female at the Ekka in the same year.

Wakefield Lorax (AI) (ET) (P) (R/F)

Sire: LT Ledger

Dam: Airlie Friesia G726E

DOB: 31/08/2015

See EBVs here.

Lorax is a red factor, homozygous polled bull that has been used extensively in our herd. We love his docility and that it extends to his progeny. The bulls have good muscularity on strong frames with good phenotypes. The females exhibit the classic wedge shape with good udders and are extremely fertile. His calving ease and birth weight data are very accurate – we have had no trouble with this bull.

Wakefield Noble (AI) (ET) (P)

Sire: Baldridge Fast Track

Dam: Wakefield Abracadabra 11 G20E

DOB: 08/09/2017

See EBVs here.

Noble is a homozygous polled, home-bred bull bred especially for use over Charolais heifers. We have been extremely happy having calved over 100 heifers to him in 2021 with only 1 assist (breech). His EBVs are more accurate than they show and as we submit more data they will change.
